Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born March 4 1954), is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. O'Hara is the recipient of several awards, including an award called a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. She was named as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. She first came to the attention of an actor in the year 1974 when she was an actor in The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main ensemble cast for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the next year, O'Hara and Candy began work in the sketch comedy program Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew the attention of critics for both her performance as a comedic actor and writer, securing an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
